“the enthusiasm is thoroughly infectious”

Cell Biology

I first visited St Andrews on a University open day and, despite the pouring rain, was convinced that it was the place for me. I have never met such an enthusiastic bunch of people, from the red-robed guide to the many staff I have met in the biology department - the enthusiasm is thoroughly infectious. The classes available are really varied and have allowed me to dip into lots of different areas of biology and meet the people whose interests lie in them.

This is the only university that boasts a great musical department when it doesn’t offer musical degrees, it makes it easy to continue a musical interest no matter what degree you’re doing. Its society, mussoc (musical society), is great fun and I enjoy playing in the chamber orchestra where as well as enjoying good music, I’ve met lots of lovely people. This really is a fantastic place to be!
